TERMS AND CONDITIONS 2026/2027
1. PROGRAM NATURE AND PURPOSE
The Seville Abroad High School Program is an academic and cultural immersion experience. It is not a tourism or vacation program. Participants are expected to integrate responsibly into Spanish academic, family, and community life.
Students represent their home country and agree to conduct themselves with maturity, integrity, and respect at all times.
By signing this agreement, the student and their parent(s)/legal guardian(s) confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
2. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Participants agree:
• To attend school regularly and maintain satisfactory academic performance.
• To comply with Spanish laws, visa requirements, school regulations, and Seville Abroad policies.
• To respect host family rules, customs, and curfews.
• Not to drive or operate any motor vehicle.
• Not to engage in hitchhiking.
• Not to enter into legal, financial, or contractual agreements.
• Not to undertake decisions affecting legal, academic, or visa status without prior written consent.
• Not to engage in body modifications (including tattoos or piercings).
• Not to undertake paid employment except occasional babysitting or tutoring permitted by law.
• To travel only under conditions approved by Seville Abroad.
Possession or use of illegal drugs will result in immediate dismissal. Alcohol and tobacco use by minors is strictly prohibited.
Seville Abroad reserves the right to dismiss any participant whose conduct violates program rules or compromises safety or wellbeing. In such cases, no refund will be granted except as otherwise expressly provided in this agreement.
3. TRAVEL POLICY
Participants may travel only:
• With host family members
• On school-authorized activities
• On Seville Abroad organized trips
• With prior written authorization from Seville Abroad
Unauthorized travel may result in dismissal.
4. HOST FAMILY PLACEMENT
Students must actively participate in family life and adapt respectfully to cultural differences.
In cases of incompatibility, Seville Abroad will evaluate the situation and may arrange a host family change where deemed appropriate.
Immediate relocation will occur in cases involving health or safety concerns.
5. INSURANCE
Comprehensive medical and accident insurance without co-payments is included in the program.
Insurance does not cover losses resulting from unlawful conduct, negligence by the participant, or failure to comply with program rules.
6. PROGRAM FEES
Program fees include services specified in the official “What Your Investment Covers” document published on the Seville Abroad website.
Fees do not include:
• Personal expenses
• School lunches (unless specified)
• Uniforms
• Passport or visa costs
• Local transportation (unless specified)
• School textbooks
• Optional extracurricular activities
• Optional international travel
• Costs arising from voluntary withdrawal or dismissal
7. APPLICATION, PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY
7.1 Registration Deposit
To initiate the formal application and placement process, a registration deposit of €6,000 (Euro) is required.
The deposit:
• Reserves a provisional place in the program.
• Activates the academic review and host family placement process.
• Will be deducted from the total program fee upon official acceptance.
Payment may be made by credit card or bank transfer.
Submission of the deposit does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
If the applicant withdraws in writing:
• Within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of payment → 100% refund of the deposit.
• After the fifteen (15) day period → €1,000 of the deposit becomes non-refundable.
If the applicant is not accepted into the program, the deposit will be fully refunded at any time.
7.2 Official Acceptance and Final Payment
Official acceptance occurs only after:
Review of the pre-application and required documentation.
A mandatory video interview with the student and at least one parent/legal guardian.
Written confirmation of acceptance issued by Seville Abroad.
Upon official acceptance, the remaining balance of the program fee must be paid within twenty (20) calendar days from the date of written acceptance.
The final payment must be made exclusively by bank transfer to the Seville Abroad designated account.
Failure to complete payment within the deadline may result in cancellation of the placement.
7.3 Cancellation by Participant (After Official Acceptance)
If the participant cancels after official acceptance but before the program start date:
• Cancellation more than sixty (60) days before program start → refund of all amounts paid minus €3,000 (administrative, academic placement and host family coordination costs).
• Cancellation between fifty-nine (59) and thirty (30) days before program start → 50% refund of the total program fee.
• Cancellation less than thirty (30) days before program start → no refund.
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. The effective cancellation date shall be the date written notification is received by Seville Abroad.
8. FORCE MAJEURE
Force majeure includes events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, war, terrorism, or other circumstances affecting safety.
• If Seville Abroad cancels prior to departure due to force majeure, payments will be refunded minus non-recoverable third-party costs already incurred.
• If interruption occurs during the program, a proportional refund will be issued for unused services, excluding non-recoverable prepaid expenses.
Participants may postpone participation without administrative penalty, subject to airline or third-party change fees.
9. EARLY RETURN OR DISMISSAL
If a participant voluntarily withdraws or is dismissed after program commencement, no refund will be granted.
Seville Abroad reserves the right to dismiss participants for misconduct, misrepresentation, health concerns affecting program safety, or violation of applicable laws.
10. PERSONAL RISK, LIABILITY RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION
Participation in an international academic and cultural immersion program involves inherent and foreseeable risks, including international travel, cultural adaptation, academic integration, independent daily activities, and recreational participation.
The participant and parent(s)/legal guardian(s) expressly acknowledge and voluntarily assume such inherent risks as an integral part of the program.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Seville Abroad, S.L., its directors, officers, employees, representatives, host families, coordinators, affiliated partners, and agents shall not be liable for any loss, delay, inconvenience, theft, personal injury, illness, emotional distress, or other damages arising from participation in the program, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
The participant and parent(s)/guardian(s) agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Seville Abroad from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
• Violation of program rules or applicable laws by the participant;
• Negligent, reckless, or unlawful conduct of the participant;
• Financial obligations personally incurred by the participant;
• Damage caused by the participant to third parties or property.
If Seville Abroad advances funds or incurs extraordinary expenses on behalf of the participant (including medical, travel, disciplinary, or emergency costs), the parent(s)/guardian(s) agree to reimburse such amounts upon written demand.
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded under Spanish law.
11. DATA PROTECTION (GDPR)
Personal data will be processed in accordance with:
• Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)
• Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD)
Data will be used solely for program administration, legal compliance, and communication purposes.

12. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
This agreement shall be governed by the laws of Spain.
Any dispute arising from this agreement shall be submitted to the competent courts of Seville, Spain.
